Warbirds. Fly, fight, survive.

A top-down shooter in the spirit of the arcade classics: formations come down, you fly up through them, and every wave is harder than the last until you are shot down. Your aircraft flies on the real numbers from its timeline page.

How the numbers get into the game

Nothing is tuned by hand per aircraft. Speed across the screen comes from the published top speed; how quickly the aircraft follows your stick comes from its wing loading (weight divided by wing area — the Zero turns on a coin, a bomber does not); the guns do damage in proportion to the weight of fire its page quotes; and how many hits a life takes comes from its loaded weight, with the Il-2’s armour on top.

Difficulty is one number: every wave adds 8 % to enemy speed, fire rate and formation size. You get 100 points per aircraft, 500 for a whole formation, and 1 for every second alive.
